We refer to a lampshade's size using the bottom diameter. (For instance, a lampshade measuring 8"x16"x12" - top x bottom x side - would be called a 16" lamp shade.)

4, 5 and 6 inch shades are for chandeliers and sconces and have a chandelier bulb clip. |

8 inch or larger lampshades have a washer (spider) fitter that will fit nearly all lamps especially lamps with harps. Fitters are approximately 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch below the top of the shade. |

A standard bulb clip comes at no charge with all 8 inch shades. A standard bulb clip can be used on all sizes of shades and can be purchased for $3.95 at check out. |
